EDIT - In light of the comments that are being posted recently, I'd like to politely ask discussion of Nazism, War Responsibility, or any other debate to be taken elsewhere. I uploaded this clip for people who enjoy Das Boot - not as a soapbox. Thanks.

| a0e0roberts You are Now beginning to Ramble here, please tell me, what Flag, is the last straw you seem to be grabbing at ? Swastika, the Flag of Ignorance, ( I was Only obeying The Fuhrers Orders,) Sieg Heil !!, or the Flag of Common decency ! ? |

| HMS Torbay, not HNS. Oh well. The Torbay was involved it TWO war crimes incidents, the second one was five days later. You could look it up, if you like. |

| "1 Occaision when the RN gunned German seamen?"
HNS Torbay(Anthony Miers),4 July 1941. Between Andros and Euboea,[2 ships] were sighted,both flying a
swastika ensign and carrying German troops.Miers surfaced and sank both
vessels with gunfire, subsequently using two Lewis guns from the bridge to
ensure that no soldiers survived. His first lieutenant,Paul Chapman later
reported: "Everything and everybody was destroyed by one sort of gunfire or
another".[Padfield:"War Beneath the Sea"] |

| "U-boats machine gun Civilians" Find ONE source to back you up. Heinz Eck was the ONLY captain so charged at Nurenberg.
Why should anyone here take your word on something? You are a ignorant git. You said yourself you didn't know what YEAR D-Day was!
Surface raiders. Ah, so you admit you don't know squat about U-Boats and want to change the subject. Not biting. Stick to the topic, please.
BTW, there is a "reply" button. Are you scared of me? |

| "crew of the Bismark were left to drown" That's a BIT harsh. They stopped picking up survivors when a report came in of u-boats in the area. But still. The Brirish subs also attacked any merchants they thought were supplying Germany. Iron ore from Scandinavia, for example. |

| "give me 1 Occaision in WW2 when the R N gunned German seamen" They didn't have to. Most of the crew of the Bismark were left to drown.
Undefended civilian ships? Most had deck guns. But if a civilian ship has vital war material on board, it isn't a civilian any more, it's a combatant.
I know all about the SS "City of Benares" and the children sunk by the U-48, commanded by Lieutenant Commander Heinrich Bleichrodt. Those children shouldn't have been aboard. They were safe in Wales. |
