You are 100% correct and the reason you touch your chest is to develop good technique. And as everyone knows whenever anyone goes for his or her Max you need good technique!

Yes, it would also go for football. I know because I play football too. for football training, you must do alot of explosive, compound workouts such as squats, deadlifts, and powercleans. And for all these lifts, u also must do high weight, low reps, which is the key to getting stronger.

235. well for one, your not gonna get much stronger at all if u do sets of 10, thats a bodybuilder routine. If u want strength and mass you have to do sets of 6,4, even 2 or 1, with real heavy weight.

I don't bench much because it doesn't really help me. Last time was about 3 or so months ago and I benched 140 10 times. You? I'm only 14 by the way :P

Decline bench scares me because I feel like im fixin to fall, but I gotta doit anyways for a well developed chest :P.

"That sounds like bull to me" Well it isn't. You can ask or watch any professional sports player with their personal trainer and see when they bench. Benching isn't usually my favorite machine to do to tone. I like to decline bench.
