| Thanks for the comment. However it is the Okuyama family that founded and maintains the original Hakkoryu. |

| I've been checking this school out for sometime now. I live in Pasadena too. I especially like their moto: A BLACK BELT MEANS NOTHING ON THE STREETS!
I am somewhat stuck between this school and
Dan Inosanto's school out in Marina Del Rey.
Both schools are awsome! |

| I live close to Pasadena also.
And I've been checking out this school for the last two years or so.
It looks very interesting I must say.
I am sort of stuck betweem this Jujutsu school and Dan Inosanto's school out in Marina Del Rey.

| Well-thought-out comment - thanks! As with most endeavors, the quality of our martial arts training relies on the insights of our teachers. That said, are you learning the art for art's sake, or for practicality -- very different things! Hakkoryu just for Hakkoryu's sake is beautiful and sublime, but an abstraction of a combat system at best. But, Hakkoryu for determining life and death, as intended by the founder, is one of the most efficient and potentially devastating skillsets known to man. |

| I have trained with Gil adams and out of all the training I have received from various martial arts, his teaching method (I am not saying Hakkoryu because I haven't had the chance to learn from other hakkoryu dojo instructors) is amazing. For me personally it is the most street effective art you can learn. |

| I spoke with Shihan Adams, and he appreciates your candor and compliments. He asks that you keep in mind that his teachers showed him how to use Hakkoryu in street applications as intended by Shodai Soke Okuyama. The skills for which you've praised him are Hakkoryu, and he says he'd be happy to go into this in more detail with you should you choose to visit us in Pasadena. |
