Can guys and gals really just be FRIENDS without there being even a SMALL undertone of sexual tension? I mean....should guys (or girls) give gifts to people of the opposite sex (eh, or same, depending on your pref) and not expect anything? OR when someone gives a gift, should we put out? I mean.....negative

| i have a male friend and we have NEVER been sexual, tried, thought, wanted to be sexual. he talks to be about his female friends and i talk to him about my guy friends. WE ARE JUST FRIENDS, so it is possible. your friend just had another agenda. my friend and i go to the movies, out to eat, comedy show, etc. he pays my way i say thanks and at the end of the night i go home and he does too |

| I agree...I don't think that you should feel obligated to 'return' the favor when someone buys you a gift. However, given the nature of said gift, I wouldn't take it to begin with. I would have to respectfully decline and then tell that person why. If some man besides my husband buys me Vicky or Fredricks or things along that line, I would take it like he wants to see me in it, or he wants to see me coming out of it...lol! |

| my mother always told me that if anyone is offering u anything u better take it and the only time u should give a gift is on a birthday, christmas, and/or a graduation. and i have been living by that rule all my life. my ex boyfriend knows i love shoes and in an attempt to get back with me this baboon bought me sneakers. then he get all funky talkin bout "where's my gift?" and i replied "nigga i'd like to know that too!" i took my ass and those sneakers home. nobody told him to buy me shoes lol |

| I totally agree with you. But i think more like your parnets, when a gift is given the giver might be looking back for something. Its like sweeting ur coffie before u drink it. Guys do it to ease their way into things. I am personally ify about taking gift, always have. i guess u know now |
