| U96 is a band which made a techno remix of the song composed for the movie "Das Boot", but yes the name of the band is also the name of the submarine in the movie. |

May I suggest once again that the stuff he wrote is not entirely true?
E.g. the climax when the boat lay aground was way exaggerated by Buchheim. The historcal fact is that after U 96 was bombed and heavily damaged by a Swordfish an hunted by 6 ships, Lehmann-Willenbrock intentionally lay the boat aground in only 70 metres depth (which was not even close to the recommended maximum depth)to give his crew time to repair the damages. |
