| for fun: search for pavarotti's Nessun Dorma. You might not be able to distinguish too many difference between Neil Boyd's performance and Pavarotti's. Maybe you just can't articulate those differences. At any rate, if you find yourself failing at either, please don't reprimand the Opera singers for knowing good/bad opera when they hear it.

| To kind of clear the air here, I think there are some key misunderstandings that all of us fail to recognize. a) America may have talent, but America doesn't know opera. Neil Boyd has a pleasant voice to listen to, and he has a very touching story. That's really all ya need to win a televised contest in America's eyes. Watched the presidential debates lately? Arguing against trained opera singers is illegit. Apparently anyone can be a music expert these days, as if there's no expertise involved. |

| You know what, all of you guys say that he is doing everything wrong with the song and with the aspect of opera. I don't see any of you guys doing what he is doing here. He won the whole thing, so I don't see how he could be bad in America's eyes. He even, on the final two, got commented by one of the best opera singers out there. Music is art. Art is free expression. Music is free expression. Neil E. Boyd has expressed this throught this whole competition, and I respect him for that. |

| These talent show audiences are total morons. They will never listen to opera or even come near an opera house but when they heard the word 'opera' they were astonished. Such hypocrits... Sorry to say this, but the guy can't sing opera. His voice isn't strong enough and he was several times out of tune. But it seems that The Hoff's opinions (they should put him a wet suit on to show the abs, what a douche) and S.Osbourne's are what matters in American song contests then there is no hope. |
