| If your new keep it simple, people aren't as advanced as they think. Get a copy of starting strength- follow Mark Rippetoes program, use until you cant get any strength gains out of it and i meen really rinse the program for what it is worth.
Learn how to deadlift, squat and press correctly- don't underestimate this. Use mobility drills to warm up and asses your posture. Stay strong and healthy and don't deviate. |

| hey i need to ask some questions about powerlifting...
hope some of you guys can help me...
but basically, i was wondering..most powerlifters ive seen perform 3 reps per set, now thats not 3 reps to failure is it??
and i seem to see alot of volume, like performing way more sets of the same thing, so does volume training with low reps/heavy weight illicit the greatest strength gains? sorry im a noob and dont really know how this works but want to start training this way |

| Arching your back is a ubiquitous power lifting technique. It shortens your rep range slightly and helps your leg drive tremendously. Of course, for a power lifting competitor it is of great benefit to train the same way you will lift in competition. |
