If your new keep it simple, people aren't as advanced as they think. Get a copy of starting strength- follow Mark Rippetoes program, use until you cant get any strength gains out of it and i meen really rinse the program for what it is worth. Learn how to deadlift, squat and press correctly- don't underestimate this. Use mobility drills to warm up and asses your posture. Stay strong and healthy and don't deviate.

hey i need to ask some questions about powerlifting... hope some of you guys can help me... but basically, i was wondering..most powerlifters ive seen perform 3 reps per set, now thats not 3 reps to failure is it?? and i seem to see alot of volume, like performing way more sets of the same thing, so does volume training with low reps/heavy weight illicit the greatest strength gains? sorry im a noob and dont really know how this works but want to start training this way

keep on working hard!

Arching your back is a ubiquitous power lifting technique. It shortens your rep range slightly and helps your leg drive tremendously. Of course, for a power lifting competitor it is of great benefit to train the same way you will lift in competition.

try not to arch your back so much while benching....but hey, whatever works for you man. nice vid.
