@coadkawi 2 strokes dont have more power top end... 2 strokes are more nippy they generaly have a mid to high power band range true but with a 4 stroke they are able to sustain gaining mph easily compare these two bikes: kawasaki kx85 (2 stroke) yamaha 125 DT (4 stroke) the kawasaki win s every time so much lighter and quicker off the line

ummmm... im gonna have to disagree with both of u... somtinside.. this was true 10 years ago... nowadays they are much more comparable... n ged... 4 strokes powerband is at a much lower rpm which gives the edge on the start.. but 2 stokes can hav more top end power... of course this is comparing racing 4 strokes to 2 strokes... somthing like an xr doesnt stand a chance against a 2 stroke.

Um....I really do apolgize GedM. I think I am gonna have to disagree with you on that one. IMO....your statement is kinda a lil off. I feel with my experience a CR250 would have a better chance of being bested by a 500 or better cc four stroke. CC for CC two strokes in my opinon have always been way quicker and faster than their four stroke counterparts. This is what I have experienced.

Hey man look, 2 strokes are great, but they are used mainly for racing motoX cuz you need good torque and acceleration coming out of turns and jumps. But thats about it, if it was a like a 1/4 mile drag race between the same bike, lets say a CR250 and a CR250F, then the 2 stroke will have a better start, but i will most def get smoked farther down the track. both engine types are great, they just serve there purpose better.

2 strokes are the best i have a 2 stroke and a four stroke the 4 stroke takes more gas the 2 strokes fatser the 4 stroke has had two many maintenenence problems and cant race it but i guess the four stroke is good for enduro
