This will be the most important lesson of your life. Maybe the only important lesson. |

| Hm. I find it very interesting that the reason he didn't get to read what must be the most interesting booklet in the history of forever is his friend's decision to skip class. If his friend had been there to sit next to him instead of Garth, he would have had a chance to read. The decisions of everyone else are constantly affecting the life of any one person, and more often than not there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. |

| sometimes you'll be the only one. and that's just the way it is. |

| challenging that everyone seems to have the key but you. (all the other kids having the handbooks) But you have to find the answers. (Him looking through the classrooms.) And the ending, of course, "That is life." |

| hm. Here's my interpretation of the video: Life is full of complications, and there will be time where you feel completely baracated from the rest of the world. (The line in the desk, his friend in the first scene) And life is found through expiriences, and you can't just get it through some handbook, it has to be learned through sweat, tears, and blood. (Hence his friend just left, like suicide) And somtimes life isn't fair (Garth) sometimes, life can be so unbelievably (continued) |

| The paper was actually a bunch of disgruntled teachers handing out copies of Letters To Penthouse. |

| You're being too literal, and it's pretty obvious that this is metaphorical, or symbolic. |

| From the playground (Childhood) to adolescence (School bell) to adulthood (classroom) then old age (him roaming the halls) to ultimately death ("Such is life").
Anyways, like I said it's all up for interpretation.
And as far as life being defined on a single sheet of paper, it was merely used as a plot device. Not used in the literal sense. |

| well...it was more of a pamphlet than a single sheet. Or more than one page at least. Punch Garth and Punch Mrs. Givens. Then tell them That is Life. Bitch. |

| This kind of storytelling is so awesome because it leaves everything up for interpretation. The emo kid bailing out early (suicide), the intelligent one constantly seeking knowledge. Hell even the scene where the bully takes his marker to the desk could be interpreted as a larger, stronger COUNTRY drawing it's borders with another. The desire for the lesser to have what the other has, leading to a small conflict.
The scene transitions alone was like a life cycle. (Continued) |

| Why does this seem like a Columbine waiting to happen? Don't let him in on it and that's when life gets a little...cRaZy!
I think life is unfair. Justine says it perfectly. It would be a philosophical godsend is the Marquis wasn't completely f'in mad. The good guys lose. You always need a touch of vice to get through life.
So punch your Garth in the face and grab the damn paper. Or grab someone elses. He's not the only kid there. |
