I worded this badly about illegal immigrants today, and come off blaming them for everything. Granted I'm not a fan but I should also have looked into the fact that these peoples lives suck, companies pull these people in like modern day slave labor, and while I'm not happy about the situation, I wont continue to knock them down.

| for the argument that we need mexican immigrants for their cheap labor and in that way they give back to the economy............are you serious? think about all the taxes that people pay BESIDES sales tax. its a vast ammount of money. and the only reason that it seems all physical labor workers appear to be mexicans is because they'll work for $8/hr instead of $10/hr, thus more likely to get hired. other people will do the work if given the opportunity at a fair price |

| though MANY illegal immigrants don't have SSNumbers, they DO have tax ID numbers and pay their taxes like everybody else...
and like akashacatbat said, many of them do jobs that most of us wouldn't even want to do-- for less than ideal pay...
they are not here to leech off our system! how many times have you seen a bum on a street corner next to a guy selling mangos. i bet you $1000 the bum is an american living off welfare, and the illegal immigrant is the one selling the mangos... |

| illegal immigrants may take from the american economy but they give back cheap labor. So yeah, they're not leaches.
and of course cheap labor means cheap products and more money in the pockets of consumers.
That's pretty much what I call giving back to the economy. |

| You're usually a pretty down to earth guy, but you dissapoint me on the issue of illegal immigrants. You need to realise that these people are a need as much as a problem. Secondly, if you were in their shoes I doubt that you'd care about the considerably richer american economy taking a downturn. There's just a vast difference in living standards, don't pretend there's justice in that. |
