Cristian Mijares, latest mexican boxing sensation, defeated Japanese Gatti (looking alike!) Kawashima in their 1st encounter. I edited 2nd, 11th and final rounds; especially Mijares got knocked down in the 2nd. It was a very entertaining fight between busy-punching Mijares and tough Kawashima. Good fight. |

| Mijares' biggest weakness was exposed in this fight: His tendancy to stand and trade punches. This happened in this fight and the maldnado fight and almost cost him the decision both times. Whenever he chose to box from the outside he dominated with relative ease using his brilliant jab and combinations. He seems to have corrected this somewhat lately as seen in the arce fight, and if he chooses to box on the outside he can bet anyone in the division. |

| whoa, never saw mijares really hurt until I saw that knockdown, even so he has a concrete chin, he took Arce's hard punches and didn't wobble or anything, same as navarro's, great champion |

| Mijares is a class act, boxing master, exciting fighter and good-looking friendly dude. hopefully he can be Beckham of boxing's lighter weight divisions. |
