7 minutes of some amazing Martial Arts by my friends in Kerala, South India. It's from a very, very rough video - remember those? filmed by one camera at a time, so picture quality is rough. But you should be able to geta feel for the martial art form itself.

Lol? It was one of the most ancient martial arts on Earth... not new in any sense. That handsome weapon he weilds is a Urumi, a very flexible set of steel swords flexible enough to be twisted into a coil... but sharp enough to cut flesh. I wonder why it is not taught as much as East Asian martial arts? Probably because the Urumi is too dangerous to be practiced. Any absence of control will deal self harm to severe levels. Today, it's taught only to a specific warrior caste, I think...

I saw a documentry on it is suppose to be one of the oldest martial arts 3000 years+, the documentry said kung fu can be traced form this.

Japanese people are of chinese origin, despite whatever prejudices held. China means Grappling, In the empire of China well even before before it was the empire, China was an important part of the martial art. You will notice when you look at these old combat forms, devoid of useless flowering and study their principals it is the same as jiujutsu. Now you can see the cultural modifications that Japanese culture has brought but the same moves.

>Ryukikon India surely influences martial arts in China. The Bodhidharma(達磨大師) did to China simultaneously with the Buddhism. I do not know martial arts in Japan that China influences excluding the Karate. It is a story when Okinawa was Ryukyu Dynasty. The Karate is martial arts in Okinawa where the influence of China was received.

Qi Gong is derived from Yogic forms and principals, Chinese martial arts are derived from these forms. Its easy to see the relation. No one knows the true origin of martial arts because many cultures have died. The chinese culture was never conquered, so many of the ancient worlds technologies and principals can be found perserved in their culture. Doesn't mean mistakingly as many people do that they started it. They just keep it intact the most for the longest. Kalari is India's Pearl.

Your actually wrong, Japanese martial arts derives from China. Chinese martial arts may have and this has strong evidence to back it up derived from India, either way Chinese Martial arts is heavily influenced by Indian Martial arts and maybe vise versa but the primary is more likely.
