Tell that to Bill Joy, inventor of JAVA, co-founder of SUN, or Marc Andreessen inventor of Netscape, or Tim Berners Lee inventor of the World Wide Web. Fact is, all the top programmers are Mac based since the platform is more robust for complex needs. OSX is much more powerful than Windows, and a fair amount more powerful then Linux since OSX is a TRUE UNIX, not "unix like" as is Linux. The OSX UI hides all the power so EVERYONE is happy, you just weren't smart enough to unlock it. Try again.

Macindrew, First up, I can almost assure you that OSX is probably the LEAST likely OS you would find software developers using. OSX is NOT more powerful than a Windows or Linux machine. I used one for about 6 months and the thing is so dumbed-down I can not see at all how you can say it is more powerful.

i know this ad is a parody, but if u actually look closely the manilla envelope is already opened when they take out the X300 so that means it doesnt fit in that envelope, it was simply inserted and then taken out....

but that's only because they aren't doing complex coding. OSX is the premiere platform for programers. Google for "Xcode" and get started. it's the environment that started the "world wide web", perhaps you've heard of it? the Apple Development Tools are more sophisticated than in the Windows or Linux worlds that's why all the top programmers only use Macs. Check out Ruby on Rails, Python, SproutCore... oh, but you are probably just needing Cobol, sorry to confuse you.

I work in software development and all of my associates never use macs because they are ineffective for complex coding and business necessities, which is a little more than just receiving email. Sorry to burst your bubble.

in the news i heard that sony was actually the first one to make the thinest laptop and it still is thinner than the air notebook look it up!

but corporations don't have difficult demands compared to corporations that use macs. most all companies use macs for their more complex tasks, but when it comes to factory workers, business executives and CEOs they mainly just need dumb terminals, email, word processing and spreadsheets which the mac actually does better than PCs. So, generally macs are too sophisticated for what these people need, thus you don't see them as much in non-creative environments.

its funny that you mentioned the real world capabilities of the mac. how many corporations and software companies do you see using macs? macs are too touchy feely. sure they are great for music, video, and art, but not everything.
