| Spanish comes from Latin, which is an italic language. The term comes from conquerors, not the conquered. Auratus/Aurum/Auriole/Aura. I was making connections with the PARTS of the words that are similar, which suggests familiarity. |

| Interesting. You almost seem offended. I was speaking to a friend the other day about the dictionary and how it has been used to obfuscate the original meanings of root words from time to time. Could be you're right; could be I'm right. What I do know is that there are words WITHIN words that we use everyday, which was the point of "El".
Also, this language we speak is a bastardized one, so all this information must be taken with a grain of salt. Thanks for commenting. |

| Eldorado means essentially "made of gold." "El" (the Spanish definite article) + de, a preposition meaning "of, from" + orado "gold, golden" from the Latin auratus < aurum "gold." It really aint hard to open a dictionary, ya know. But maybe you prefer wild guesses. |

| Wow, does no one look at dictionaries? Israel means "wrestles with god." Look it up. |

| Elevate, level, elect, select, Celeste, Stella, Estelle, elf, elite and Eldorado do NOT come from Hebrew. Jesus comes from Hebrew. A halo has nothing to do with an afro. Aureole and aura are not related words. Whiz being related to wizard is possible, but not proven. Pagus is Latin, not Greek and Latin. Your pisces/ischa/X theory is completely wack... not a shred of truth in it. Nothing should escape analysis is right. Start by consulting a dictionary rather than just your imagination. |

| Thanks for the correction. To split "Dorado" into its 3 syllables reveals "Ra" the golden Sun God.
Some months of the year, even, are named for some of those concepts.
March (Mars, "god" of war)
April (Aphrodite, seen as "goddess" of love, but more likely fertility)
May (Maya, ditto)
June (Juno, Equivalent to Hera)
JULius AUGUSTus Caesar (nuff said). |

| I'd like to add that the days of the week are also pagan in origin. Most of the days are named after Norse gods.
Tuesday = Tiu's Day
Wednesday = Wodon's Day
Thursday = Thor's Day
Friday = Freya's Day
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are also references to paganism meaning Saturn Day, Sun Day, and Moon Day.... but those should've been obvious.
Also, you wrote El Dorado as one word which might confuse the viewers. The 'El' in Spanish is simply 'the'. |
