| You've lost me...the rabbi in the opening scene is played by Meryl Streep who also plays: 1)a mother 2)an angel and 3)Ethel Rosenberg, whereas Al Pacino's doctor is played by James Cromwell who was the farmer in 'Babe' and George Sibley in 'Six Feet Under'. |

| When I saw this series I realised it was her immediately because of her eyes and voice,but my partner took some convincing (like you). What incredible performances she did throughout though, she is without a doubt my favourite actor, I saw her recently in 'Prime' and she gave a hilarious depiction of the stereotypical 'jewish mother' but with so much more subtlety compared with other 'jewish matriarchs' on film which tend to be overstated and caricature-like. |

| Her name is Meryl NOT Myrel!
I agree that she is a wonderful actress but I don't believe that a god of any kind was responsible for her skills-just hard work, dedication, the ability to observe people, humility and her own unique talent which she has HERSELF to thank for!
I would hope that if there were such a thing as a 'god' it would be far too busy preventing famine,disease,poverty and disabled children from being born!
We have Meryl to thank for Meryl.

| I am a writer/poet from South America who thrives on greatness in its entirety and I think Myrel is just one great human being with remarkable talent.
They call her one of the greatest actress ever but who is a greater actor or actress than Myrel?
I am facinated by her genius and her humility, know, not believe that Myrel is an American gift to the rest of the world.
Thank god for her!
