| The profit margins of Exxon, BP, ConocoPhillips, Chevron and RoyalDutchShell are 9.90%, 7.40%, 8.40%, 7.8% and 8.4% respectively about average for that size company.
The Federal government receives more in tax revenue each company and its shareholders receive in profit. Shareholders include your neighbors, coworkers, friends and family who may have a portion of their retirement invested in a large-cap Mutual fund. When you use "greed" it is a dead giveaway you have been brainwashed my the media. |

| Then let's Drill..seriously,
HOWEVER, because this is a National Security issue, I believe the United States Government should Drill in these off limits areas, not the Oil Companies who ran the ECONOMY in the ground with greed. So Drill ALL we want, even is wildlife reserves, EVERYWHERE possible! We may even pay off the National Debt, and free ourselves from the Federal Reserve Bank.
Still want to drill baby drill?....I doubt it. |

| I think you have the privilege of commenting also. That is what this is: a forum for discussion.
I strongly favor Independence from foreign oil but I realize the technology to do so even if we had strong leadership would take 5 to 10 years to implement and more than likely will take 20 to 30. So when I ask myself what the USA can to in the meantime to avoid paying $12 for a gallon of gas in ten years, drilling is a part of the very short term solution. |

| I EARN more than $250,000.00 a year and I don't pick a Political Party, but I do try and have an open mind. I like a STRONG Military(REP), but I believe in a system that is fair to the MIDDLE Class(DEM). My view is not popular I guess, because I am not polarized one way or the other, but I should be allowed to post a comment from time to time when I have something I want to say. You seem to think you are smarter than me, so let's hear some more.... |

| It's funny how your all playing economy wars and then wondering why your getting nowhere. It's arrogant to the point where your going get get told you have nothing to be arrogant about.
He was just stating quick fixes you could use, he's saying that it's not impossible, but he's not saying that they are they best ways to go. |

| Good idea, as soon as we improve the technology for storage and cold weather operation of Hydrogen powered vehicles we will hopefully do just that. |

| I make less than 250000 and am a conservative Libertarian. You have no idea what you are talking about. The Republican party with all their flaws have nothing to do with the price of gas. The declining dollar has as much to do with gas prices as anything else.
The main difference between conservative /libertarian principles and liberal democrats is that they think that they know better than you do: what to to do with your income, your children s education, etc. Big Government: Go THE HELL AWAY. |

| What you should be doing is create a "Manhattan project" for a Hydrogen Economy.
Countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran that support terrorism will STILL make money if we still use oil.
They will sell oil to other countries (india/china).
The price will go down but AMERICA won't win much.
If YOU create hydrogen cars and fuel that the rest of the world wants to buy the Saudi and Iranian Economy will collapse because they have nobody to sell their oil to if everyone have a hydrogen economy. |

| I feel sorry for people who believe DRILL Baby DRILL propaganda. Listen people if you want to pay less for gas stop voting for people like George Bush. People, you are not Republican, unless you earn over $250,000.00 a year, and get that TAX break. Following what RICH people tell you to do is not the smartest thing you have done. Changed my mind, I don't feel sorry for you...drill baby drill? idiots.... |

| The reason that oil/gas is so expensive is because our money is being continuously and purposefully devalued by the fraudulent Federal Reserve system. People have been sold this lie about the incresed demand in China and India so that speculators could bid up the price, but when you have a currency that has lost 40% of its values since 2000, naturally it takes more of it to buy everything... including oil. |
