All of the other Nations with universal health care systems are not on the verge of Bankruptcy. We are... In fact we owe them money because our own Federal reserve can't even print enough money for this government to spend. We have problems to fix before we create more for future generations
Health care, Social Security, Medicaid, David Walker, 60 minutes,

Very interesting, very credible, and it shows that we can do many things without the need to scrap everything and change to socialism.
Part 2-3 talks directly about insurance and socialism, why they are both bad, and what we can do about insurance issues without socialism. |

None of them have the U.S. Government, and the two party system we have to deal with, the inherent waste and abuse that are built in. They also do not have the U.S. Baby Boomer issue to deal with.
We are not anyone else, we are the United States, and we have specific issues that relate to this country that do not fit into your ideal of socialism. |

Look up John Stossil on YouTube. He did a very interesting segment on Michael Moore, the insurance industry and the movie sicko. |

| Show me data on this "flocking" of yours. Give me even one credible reference.
Every estern country has an aging population. None is unhappy with universal healthcare. |

| Every western European country (& Canada, Australia, Japan, etc.) has a capitalistic system.
Their healthcare systems (e.g. France's) are private. They are open to private health insurance cies, but these must compete with a tax-based system that keeps them in check.
No one is talking about "free" anything except Weed. Health services are offered for a fee. Only, no one takes MDs aside and convinces them to overcharge for services, as the US health industry has done with, eg, heart surgeons. |

| redo:"go with a safe change"
Socialism is not a safe change. When it would eventuially fail, and there is no more private system to fall back on, then what?
How "SAFE" is it when NO ONE has heatlth care while the failed socialist system goes back to private ownership?
Do not buy into the dangerous idea of "FREE" care. Nothing in life is free. |

| redo:"It's a system that's been tested in many countries over generations & it works.."
It does NOT work there , and it will never work here.
Cuba has two systems, one for the rich elite and one for everyone else.
Canadians flock to the USA for care they can not get locally.
Use your brains people. No matter what this guy tries to tell you, he can not tell you how we would ever pay for it here with 1/3rd of the population ready to retire. |

Translation: PLEASE do not confuse people with facts or knowledge...that would be a travesty to those of us who want to push socialism on you... |

| If you want to change a system and you think your gvt is incompetent, then go with a safe change: try something that's been road-tested in many other countries before. Don't go with some new, experimental solution.
Universal healthcare has been road-tested in many countries. It works. Even the GOA favors universal healthcare. It's the safe choice. It's the common sense choice. |

| To anyone interested in universal healthcare (Weed, please stop interrupting)--
It's a system that's been tested in many countries over generations & it works for an essential reason: it removes the incentive for private insurance cies to approach MDs & convince them to raise prices to guarantee that people will buy insurance. This is what these cies have done, e.g. as reported by MDs doing heart transplants.
In ctries w/ univ health, a procedure is billed 1/4 less. |
