| That's not entirely true. I know people from this business and I know second handedly that in some betel stands in certain areas through special "procedure", sexual bargains are still available. It's just not openly commercialized or advertised due to legal and cultural reasons. As I understand, it is both immpossible and unnatural to completely outlaw or boycott the sex related business in most urban cultures. These betel stand have sometimes become a convenient medium. |

| I really miss Taiwan. Some of the people I've met there are the best friends I've ever had, the food is fantastic, and the place always feels alive. I always wish the best to the people of Taiwan. They're a great culture. I hope they maintain their path and don't adopt the Western culture here in the US. |

| 這部片子我以前看過了，是一部製作的很棒的影片，不論是觀點或者敘事結構，都有獨到的眼光和巧思，當時好像是在台灣的公共電視還是哪個美術館看到的，我忘了。另外還有一位奧地利的建築師~克老福，也拍了一部從建築觀點看檳榔攤的這個有趣的盒子。 |

| In taiwan, it is not customary to mix tobacco. And no, the Areca nut is very high in carcinogenic copper. If you're not getting an effect from the stuff you buy it's either gone stale, or you are not preparing it properly. It needs lime or similar as a catalyst. |

| I have never tried chewing tobacco but I have tried betel. I think the people that seem to be getting cancer from Betel chew are really getting it from the tobacco they mix into it. The betel I order online doesn't have any notable effect so it is harmless but a waste of money. |
