| So, following that, any argument you make about being in dangerous regions like that will be foolish to me... we are there to create a new capitalist democracy (that we'll be able to warp and later abuse). Since you were in Iraq, what were you doing there? Putting your safety on the line to further the cause of a democratic Iraq. Spreading peace and love? Or was it something more selfish. Were you in the Peace Corp when you went there? Did you get (well) paid? Don't fool yourself. |

| If your response is, "Well, we bring Democracy and peace to the world", maybe you Should read Naomi Klein's book "Shock Doctrine". Don't get me wrong, I'm not against America, it represents the best that good men have been able to achieve, I'm against the men and policies that are desecrating the purity of America. But also, inhumane policies too. It's all about developing new markets. Capitalism. Like Communism, it requires a purity of man. But this will never come to be. |

| Again, who gives a shit about Iraq? Are your parents Iraqi? Are you? What about goddamn Africa? Darfur? Does our future as a country rely on the safety of Iraq? I'm pretty sure that our only interest is the oil in that region... had we put 600 billion into alternate fuel research the West would forget meddling in the M.E. If we had no financial interest in that region WE wouldn't be there. Nature of the market... So, we're the good guys. We get to have all of the weapons. Is that what you mean? |

| Nihilistic. No, man. I believe in mankind, though he will screw himself again and again. Yes, you did meet Iraqis, and I bet that you have a much bigger bank account for it (I have that option too but I don't want to participate in the free-for-all of exorbitant (because of danger!) US contracts over there (and speaking of that- do you see the naked ugliness of what is happening in Iraq? How many government contracts are there now? Is capitalism our greatest export, really?) Iran = diplomacy. |

| Exactly what prejudice do you mean? If you read the books of investigative journalists they must list their sources (in order that they be credible)... Fox news (or, the great Infotainment center) does nothing of the sort. The neocon people invented the idea of "unnamed sources"... for the convenience of spewing untruths and trying to sound believable. Not that you are any stripe of these politics, but it is worth realism and honest consideration to actually study a person that you despise. |

| well that's your prejudice, I have lived in Iraq and they're not as hostile toward democracy as you seem to think. They were however saddled with a corrupt, gangster-government who committed enough atrocity to keep them at each other's throats for awhile. Iraqis can come together and have in the past, if only to fight off Iran. I know many Iraqis and some of them make me more optomistic than the usual nihlistic armchair hypothesizer. |

| If it would be possible for people to resolve the enculturated generational hatres, that seek to paint people that offer information and perspectives of truth, with smearing and defamation, then we could clean up all debate about serious issues. |
