| These guys didnt get the fame or respect they deserved. With the exception of the vibrant Gothic scene at the Krypt Klub, this was what the LA music scene was about from 1986-1989. What is interesting is that the goth and glam rock scenes were interwoven as well with bands from both genres playing at the now famous Scream Club. It was a weird time for sure, but a glorious one! | I recently read a new GnR biography based on the accounts of the band and the people who knew them at that time. So who really knows, they were well into the sex and drug thing. But Axl, Izzy and Duff were in several bands that traded members according to the book. Slash would'nt join GnR without Steve and Tracii and Axl didn't get along. Slash auditioned for Poison and almost became the guitar player for them. But who really knows they were all pretty insane. |
