| I love people like Jimi Hendrix,Killers,Manic Street Preachers in other words I am a lover of rock music and the likes,but I adore Maria Callas just hearing her sing reduces me too jelly for me she is an icon.Just wished I was around to see her live.RIP Maria. |

| I love Callas, but for some reason always resist listening to her in French, and then when I finally give in I ALWAYS love it - her Juliette is also great.
But this is flawless - so many ppl rubbish Callas -'oh she had no technique' or 'she was all publicity and no talent' - well this proves them ALL WRONG! : ) |

| Thats true! I almost feel a little dissapointed she never performed any of the French repertoire on stage. Its like hearing a different side of her personality, not the fiery nature u hear in her Italian operas, more sweet vulnerable and warm. |

| Callas' French was excellent (why are so many of the best French singers non-French?) and the French language brought out something special in her voice. |

There will never be another worthy of the title La Divina in our lifetime. |

| You hit the nail on the head! That's exactly it. Callas had mastered technique, far beyond even what other great artists do. She went to the next level. If you watch her, for example the Casta Diva broadcast from Rome (1954?) she is not singing, there is no appearance of singing. And even though she was such a great actress, etc..... All the expression is in the voice! |
