| it's quite a disappointment to watch this movie after reading the original novel. The characters portrayed in the film seems to be less sophisticated and somehow has lose the classic british touch as compared to the pride and prejudice movie. mr woodhouse in the film is too silly and mr elton too. gwyneth as emma is okay, but mr knightley doesn't seem to be much of a gentleman. the scripts too, aren't well said, meaning not with the classic style. I have to say it's not up to my expectation. |

| Good point about Bridget Jones! Plus, Scarlett O'Hara, one of the most well known American characters in book/movie history was played by the British Vivien Leigh! So it works both ways, and there are talented actors from either side of the pond playing all kinds of roles... it's awfully closed minded to say you don't like someone's performance based on their nationality! |
